When you use cloud AI, your current conversation is temporarily processed by that provider. The choice of provider is yours, and we recommend European-owned, GDPR-compliant options with zero data retention.
Honest answer: local models are still getting there.
Eigin can run fully offline with a local model. Switch to Airplane Mode and see for yourself. But for most people, a cloud model will give better results today.
We support both. We're transparent about the difference, and we're technically aligned toward a fully local future as models improve.
The app is free and open source.
You pay for models the way you pay for electricity, metered directly to whichever provider you choose. If you use a local model, Eigin is completely free.
